Interior lighting in a room or the like arranged without bringing electrical lines to the lighting arrangement. A directed light source situated at the room's boundary surface, for example, in the ceiling or its vicinity, is used as illumination source. Its light beam is limited to a narrow light cone directed into the room. In an interior lighting arrangement a light diffuser placed in said light cone is employed, which by diffusing the light cone causes an essentially equivalent illumination phenomenon to an incandescent lamp in a normal interior illumination arrangement or a corresponding light source. <IMAGE>
