Nanoparticle (A), for treating resistant tumor cells, comprises a matrix of at least a protein, in which at least an active agent is embedded. An independent claim is included for the preparation of the nanoparticle comprising dissolving at least a protein and at least an active agent in an aqueous medium, precipitating protein in the form of nanoparticle through controlled addition of a non-dissolvent for the protein, including organic solvent, preferably ethanol, stabilizing precipitated nanoparticle by adding a cross-linker or by heating, and purifying the nanoparticle by washing or centrifuging.
