"False" recombinants of insulin precursors are renatured in aqueous medium with excess mercaptan in the presence of an organic redox system or of at least one organic compound which forms an organic redox system of this type under the reaction conditions, that is to say are converted into the "correct" recombinants in a single reaction step. The "correct" recombinants can be converted enzymatically or chemically by known techniques into the corresponding insulin. |
