<p>A housing for storing a recording support such as a magnetic tape cassette, laser disc or the like and preferably such cassette or laser disc in its own protective casing, has a very simple and reliable insertion/ejection mechanism and, in a modular form, is extremely versatile for the coupling of identical housing modules or similar modules of different sizes. In a preferred form, the housing has an opening for the insertion of a cassette container in an insertion direction and is characterized by having two pivot pins (5', 6') for said container within the housing, a first (6') being opposite said opening and the second (5') being laterally on a first side thereof. A spring element (7) applies a bias force to the container. When it is fully inserted in the housing, such force is substantially transverse to the insertion direction and towards the side of said opening associated with the second pivot point (5'). When the recording support is tilted or pivoted simultaneously about the first and second pivot points (5', 6'), the spring element (7) applies an ejection force to the support in a direction opposite to the insertion direction. Housing modules of this type are provided with lateral and vertical coupling means (9, 10; 13, 14).</p> |
