<p>An apparatus for loading a spare wheel on a vehicle body comprises a robot operative to load the spare wheel on a predetermined portion provided in the vehicle body supported and transported by a carrier mounted on a vehicle body conveying device, a speed detecting device including a movable mechanism which engages temporarily with the carrier to move together with the carrier and detecting a speed of transportation of the vehicle body based on a speed of movement of the movable mechanism, and a robot moving device for shifting the robot along a direction of transportation of the vehicle body at a speed determined in response to the speed detected by the speed detecting means.</p> |
