<p>A sterilizable video microscope holder (H) for supporting and positioning a video microscope unit (46) in an operating room comprises a sterilizable flexible tubular arm (12), a bundle of optical fibers (38) running through the arm, a support (16) attached to one end of the arm for supporting it at the operating table (26) and a connector (14) at the same end of the arm for holding an end of the fiber optic bundle in aligned position for connection to a light source (48). The arm (12) includes an inner articulated member (34) which is bendable in all directions and will remain in any position to which it is bent and an outer covering (36) to protect it from moisture, body oils and chemicals. The connector includes a tubular member (14) for receiving and supporting the first end of the bundle of optical fibers (38) in aligned position with a light cable (50) connected to the light source (48).</p> |
