<p>The present invention provides non-human, transgenic animals for use as a model for the study of Alzheimer's Disease. The animals exhibit pathology associated with Alzheimer's Disease. The phenotype is conferred in the animals by the introduction of an amyloid-containing polypeptide fragment of amyloid precursor protein, through the introduction of the DNA into the germ and somatic cells of the animal by transgenic methods.</p> |
