PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of moire without deteriorating a reproduced picture with simple configuration by forming a picture data with an interpolation picture data and a gradation picture data so as to read an original picture at a double sampling frequency. CONSTITUTION:An original picture is decomposed into picture elements and read and quantized into a digital picture data and the result is inputted to a picture processing section. The processing section at first applies white/black level conversion to a picture data and shading correction and sends the result to a moire correction circuit 22. An interpolation means 200 generates newly an interpolation picture data D' resulting from interpolation based on a data D at an optional position between respective picture elements of the gradation picture data D subject to A/D conversion at a prescribed sampling frequency. Then a picture data generating means 250 generates a picture data D+D' having a frequency higher than the prescribed sampling frequency comprising the data D and D'. The data D+D' results from reading the original picture at a substantially double sampling frequency. Thus, moire to a dot original is almost eliminated. |
