摘要 Mining machinery, such as a coal cutting machine, and a conveyor, are driven by a chain from a sprocket (3). The sprocket (3) is driven through a gearbox (2) from an electric motor (5). Any fluctuations in the power to drive the machinery are compensated for by a hydraulic system which is driven from the first gearbox (4) through a second gearbox (7). The hydraulic system uses water as the hydraulic medium and consists of a pump (8) with an inlet pipe (10) and an outlet pipe (11) and with flow control devices (12,13,14,15). The pump (8) functions as a variable brake and a mechanical brake (6) is fitted to the shaft which connects it to the second gear box (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - Load compensating device for mining machinery. The use of water as a hydraulic medium makes the device environmentally friendly.
