The stereo circuit for TV sound system detects the motion of TV picture to adjust the sound magnitude of a speaker, thereby amphasizing the stereo phony of the speaker sound. The circuit comprises right and left sound output amplifiers (A1,A2), a stereo sound synthesizer (3), upper and lower sound output amplifiers (A6,A7), a chroma trap unit (4) for outputting a luminance signal from a video signal (Vin), a motion detector (5) for comparing a luminance signal of present frame with the luminance signal of prior frame to detect horizontal and vertical motion vector component signals (X,Y), and horizontal and vertical motion vector matrix units (6,7) for generating gain control signals.
