PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound having action for suppressing production of peroxide lipid and action for inhibiting and suppressing production of lipoxygenase and HHT and useful for treatment and prevention of circulatory disease, inflammation and allergic disease. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl, etc.; R<3> to R<5> are OH, amino, etc.; R<6> and R<7> are aliphatic, etc.; R<8> and R<9> are H, aromatic ring, etc.), e.g. 5-amino-2-benzyl-2,4,6,7- tetramethyl-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran. The compound of formula I is obtained by condensing a compound of formula II to a compound of formula III (CH2R<1> is a group corresponding to R<6>) and then as necessary, carrying out deprotection, acylation and alkylation reaction, respectively or in the combination of two or more reactions thereof. |
