A super charger (2) is located in the air intake tube (A), dividing it into two sections (7,6). The pressure-sided tube section (6) contains a first throttle valve (8), actuated by a control member (11). A second throttle valve (9) is located in the intake-sided tube section (7), in front of the supercharger. The two valves are coupled via a connection unit (a,b,c,d,I,II), so that both move mainly synchronously in opening or closing direction. The connection unit contains an identification unit (K), to actuate the second valve delayed and/or load- dependant. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use in an engine which has a pref. permanently driven supercharger. Improved efficiency and reduced exhaust emission in underload area
