A steel housing (1) is fitted over the gearshift mounting and secured. The upper part of the housing has two horizontal plates (5,.6) forming a slot into which the locking plate (3) is slid via a side slot. The plate is locked in position by a vertical locking bolt attached to the security lock (2). The security lock(2) is mounted inside a steel cylinder (11) attached to the upper plate while the bolt locates in a hole in the plate. The housing is made from a rectangular steel folded structure and is secured by welding/rivetting. The gear lever is locked in one position with the plate secured.
