PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a luminaire main body, to facilitate handling of the main body, and to facilitate management of electrical insulation to a socket. CONSTITUTION:A luminaire main body 1 comprises an external frame 3 made of synthetic resin having an opening part 4 in the center, and a metallic chassis 2 to be fitted into the opening part 4 of the external frame 3. A pair of socket units 10 having a plurality of socket parts for supporting a lamp are mounted on the under surface of both sides of the external frame 3 of the main body 1. A plurality of lighting element installation parts 17a, 17b are provided on the socket unit 10, while the lighting element installation part 17a of one socket unit 10 and the lighting element installation part 17b of the other socket unit 10 are alternately displaced.
