<p>Described is a method of remelting workpiece surfaces, in particular coated surfaces, using laser radiation. The invention is characterized in that the surface is worked with a laser beam which strikes the workpiece surface at an angle of incidence other than zero in such a way that the remelting process is carried out in stabbing fashion. The laser radiation is preferably linear-polarized (p-polarized) and the degree of absorption of the radiation is controlled by choice of the appropriate angle of incidence in accordance with Fresnel's reflection curves.</p> |
