PURPOSE:To simultaneously release and control the tables for routing of respective communication equipments when any abnormality is detected in the transfer phase of a packet to be supplied to each communication equipment. CONSTITUTION:When terminals A10 and B14 are connected along the passage of a communication equipment 11 for housing subscriber a communication equipment 12 for repetition a communication equipment 13 for housing subscriber, the terminal A10 transfers a start cell and the communication equipment 13 for housing subscriber detects this start cell and detects time-out after the lapse of prescribed time, a release cell is issued and supplied to the communication equipment 12 for repetition and the communication equipment 11 for housing subscriber (T2a and T2b), the tables for routing are released, and an information cell expressing the completion of release is prepared by the communication equipment 11 for housing subscriber and reported through the communication equipment 12 for repetition and the communication equipment 13 for housing subscriber (T3a and T3b). Corresponding to this release cell, the tables for routing at the respective communication equipments are simultaneously released from the occupied states.
