PURPOSE:To prevent the degradation in transmission efficiency by curving of a fiber and the generation of burning and optical axis mis-alignment by supporting and fixing the fiber with the specific fixing structure. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide fiber 1 is supported by a supporting hole 4 provided in a supporting member 3 near an incident end face 2. The silver halide fiber 1 is a mixed crystal fiber composed of, for example, a silver chloride and silver bromide and its diameter is 0.4mm. The supporting member 3 is constituted of titanium and the bore of the supporting hole 4 is 0.41mm. The fiber 1 is fixed by a fixing member 5 and an adhesive 6 in the position apart by 5mm from the incident end face 2 of the fiber 1. The fixing member 5 is made of, for example, a 'Teflon(R)' resin and is press fitted to the supporting member 3. The adhesive 6 is, for example, a silicon resin adhesive. The intensity of scattered light is low in the position of >=5mm from the end face of the optical fiber. Then, the temp. rise of the fixing part is low and the thermal burn of the fiber 1 does not arise even if the laser of relatively high energy is made incident. The fiber 1 is supported near the end face and the thermal bending of the fiber 1 is prevented. |
