PURPOSE:To provide a document preparing device and a display control method capable of quickly and easily select a homonym. CONSTITUTION:The homonym is outputted to and displayed on the display part of a key 44g. When a desired word exists, the homonym can be selected and defined by depressing the key 44g displaying the desired word. When no homonym exists in the words being displayed, the next homonym can be outputted to and displayed on the display part of the key 44g by depressing a (next candidate) key 44e.
