PURPOSE: To provide an oral hygienic compsn. which contains a specified glyceroglycolipid as an antiplaqe compd. and inhibits aggregation of bacteria as the cause of dental plaque. CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains at least one compd. selected from glyceroglycolipid expressed by formula I or glyceroglycolipid expressed by formula II by effective amt. to prevent forming a dental plaque. In formula I, A<1> is a saccharide containing at least oneβ-D-galactose group, R, R<1> are each H, aliphatic hydrocarbon, aromatic, alicyclic, or acyl groups, but it is not allowed that both of R and R<1> are H. In formula II, R<2> , R<3> are each H, aliphatic hydrocarbon, aromatic, alicyclic, B is OH, NR<5> R<6> , wherein R<5> , R<6> are each H, aliphatic hydrocarbon, aromatic, alicyclic. By using this compsn., deposition of bacteria in a mouth can be inhibited. As for the compd. of formula I, for example, 3-(butyloxy)-2-hydroxypropyl-β-D-galactopyranoside is used. As for the compd. of formula II, 3-(N,N-dibutylamino)-2-hydroxypropyl-β-D- galactopyranoside is used.
