发明名称 DRIVING METHOD FOR VERY SMALL OBJECT
摘要 PURPOSE:To simultaneously drive a number of very small objects on the order of nm using a simply arranged system by intermittently generating adsorptive forces for the very small objects to be driven which are made from macromolecules, etc., and providing a gradient in the adsorptive forces between in front of and behind the very small objects. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of small subjects 2 to be driven are mounted on one side of a holder 1 while being oriented in the direction 3 of driving, with intervals 4 in the direction 3 of driving. Each of the subjects 2 to be driven comprises an adsorbing portion 5 located in front of the direction 3 of driving and a detaching portion 6 located behind the direction, the adsorbing and detaching portions adjoining each other. The adsorbing portion 5 and the detaching portion 6 are made flexible so as to be brought into close contact with a base 7 during adsorption, and are both made from e.g. hydrophobic material. An aqueous liquid layer 8 is interposed between the holder 1 and the base 7 and each of the subjects 2 to be driven is located within the liquid layer 8. The detaching portion 6 is heated so that each of the subjects 2 to be driven is driven, together with the holder 1, along the extension surface 9 of the base 7 by utilizing hydrophobic reaction.
