PURPOSE:To provide the optical deflector with long life by reducing the contact friction between a shaft and a rotary body due to the magnetism of the magnets of a scanner motor. CONSTITUTION:This optical deflector has a dynamic pressure air bearing which uses one of a sleeve 3 and a shaft 1 inserted into the sleeve 3 as a rotary member and the other as a fixed member, a stator core 7 which is provided on the fixed member, and the two magnets 6-1 and 6-2 which are fixed to the sleeve 3 constituting the rotary member across the stator core 7; and the centers of the two magnets 6-1 and 6-2 are fixed at positions which are made eccentric symmetrically around the center of the stator core 7 on a straight line passing the center of the stator core 7. Mangetic unbalance forces generated between the stator core 7 and magnets 6-1 and 6-2 cancel each other and the contact between the shaft 1 and sleeve 3 becomes extremely small to reduce the contact friction. |
