PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recorder having an ink jet recording head which can suitably discharge ink of a specific quantity at the time of printing. CONSTITUTION:The ink jet recorder comprises a head member 8 having an orifice 1 and an ink pressure chamber 9 for containing ink to be discharged via the orifice therein, an actuator 6 so mounted at the member 8 that one end in contact with ink in the chamber 9 is displaceable in the chamber, a bypass 4 so provided above the chamber 9 in the member 8 as to communicate the chamber 9 with the exterior of the member 8, and a switch 11 provided in the bypass 4 to control opening, closing of the bypass 4. |
