<p>Appts. (1) for processing a component of joining two components (3,4) by means of ultrasound incorporates an ultrasonic welding unit (5) with a converter (6) and a sonotrode (7).The appts. is provided with a position measuring unit (11) which determines the distance of the sonotrode from the component (3) and is connected to the control unit of the ultrasound generator.The welding parameters for the sonotrode (7) are set by the ultrasound generator (via the converter (6) dependent on the signals from the control unit supplied with data from the position measuring unit (11).The position measuring unit (11) is contactless measuring system (e.g. an optical or acoustic measuring system). Alternatively, it is a contacting system such as, for example, a line potentiometer or a mechanical probe.The appts. (1) is a standard press, a special machine, a hand-held gun, a robot-operated tool, etc..The control unit (which incorporates a personal computer) produces signals for welding parameter such as welding energy, duration, path, feed rate, amplitude, frequency and/or beginning and end of sound application.</p> |
