FORMATION OF VEHICLE LAMP REFLECTOR

PURPOSE:To enhance the rate at which light from a light source is trapped and to prevent reflection of stray light from a wall face in using a deformed housing by forming a reflector into a free curved surface that matches the deformed portion of the housing. CONSTITUTION:A reflector 1 has a multi-focus reflecting surface 2 obtained by cutting the original curved surfaces of paraboloids with different focal lengths into slices and then connecting them together. The reflector 1 is formed with a free curved surface such that portions cut from the original curved surfaces match a deformed portion; i.e., even if a vehicle lamp housing 4 is a deformed type deep on the right side and shallow on the left side, the loss of quantity of light can be minimized. Also, stray light can be prevented from arising from the rectilinear portion of a wall face that is formed by deformation of the housing 4.
