In order to provide a pneumatic tyre with a tread and a pair of side walls which start from the tread and each end in a bead which is reinforced by a bead core, a carcass which reinforces the tyre being formed in the tyre and having its ends folded around the bead cores, in which pneumatic tyre it is ensured by means of suitable measures that even if for example bead cores made of plastic fibres are used it is possible to manufacture the tyre, assemble it and use it without the bead core becoming deformed so that, as a result, a pneumatic tyre is provided whose bead cores ensure a reliable seat on the rim and in which the installation of materials which are lightweight and also cost-effective to dispose of is possible, it is proposed that the carcass (4) should be laid with its end wrapped around the bead core (3) on the outer side of the side wall (1) of the tyre and should end folded back on the inside.
