<p>A package (1) for eggs or the like comprises a tray or the like (2), made of compression molded pulp and having upper raised portions (5) and lower raised portions (7), which in quadratic groups of four include between them upwardly open recesses (6) and downwardly open recesses (9) respectively in order to secure and enclose respectively eggs or the like. According to the invention the package is at the top of it covered by a lid (3), made of a plate of corrugated paper, which lid is provided with holes (18) designed to allow the upper parts of the eggs or the like to penetrate the lid as well as with laterally disposed edge sections (11, 12), by means of which the lid is fastened to the tray or the like (2) below. The edge sections (10, 11) are joined to the rest of the lid (3) through fold and tear indication lines (13, 14). The lid has wide end sections (19) without holes, which are used as gripping elements and as support surfaces for upper trays in a stack as well as for imprints.</p> |
