Casting apparatus for spherical explosive pieces

Spherical explosive pieces (30) are produced by explosive casting. Once the cooling phase in a conventional casting plate is uneven, explosive pieces of this type exhibit blowholes, cracks and pores. By means of a casting apparatus (1) having a two-part mould cavity (25) consisting of a cooling block (5) and a heat-insulated top part, a spherical explosive piece (30) of high density can be produced. Costly heating and cooling of the casting apparatus are dispensed with. <IMAGE>
