OVERPRESSURE REGULATING AIRBAG INFLATOR An inflator (10) for an inflatable vehicle occupant restraint system comprises a housing (12) with an arcuate stress concentration groove (20) therein of reduced cross section relative to the remainder of the housing. The groove (20) ruptures upon the occurrence of a predetermined pressure internally of the housing (12), thereby providing a "weal point" in the housing to achieve a predetermined and systematic control of structural failure in the inflator.
