PURPOSE:To perform automatic assembly through simplification of assembly of a counter shaft by a method wherein when rigidity of a case is increased by integrally forming the auxiliary transmission containing part of a transfer case, the support wall of a counter shaft is detachable from the transfer case. CONSTITUTION:A transfer case 22 to contain an auxiliary transmission 18 and a drive force distributing device 20 is divided into two sections of one being a containing part for the auxiliary transmission 18 and a containing part for the driven force distributing device 20, each division case being fixed by means of a bolt and nut. An internal wall 52 is removably attached through a bolt 54 to a mounting seat 50 integrally formed at the inner side in the vicinity of the division surface of the first case 22a. An opening part 52a to support a fit-in part between a main shaft 14 and an intermediate shaft 16, a recessed part 52b to support a counter shaft 24, and a boss part 52c to support a shift rod 32 are formed in an internal wall 52.
