PURPOSE:To provide an external information reporting device for a vehicle or a route guiding device for the vehicle whereby a driver can adopt a method for evading a jam, etc., in accordance with conditions by providing proper information concerning the jam and a traffic restricted section. CONSTITUTION:A fault section detecting part 42 detects the fault section with the traffic fault such as the jam, restriction, etc., based on external information received by an FM multiplex receiver 34 or a beacon receiver 36. A running section detecting part 44 detects whether or not the vehicle is running in the fault section. When it is detected, an information selecting part 46 selects information concerning the applying jam and restriction from external information. A display part 26 displays it and reports it to the driver. Information concerning the jam, etc., is information such as the rest of jam length, predicted passage time, a jam cause and a rest institute. |
