Preventive medical composition for the human cardiovascular system

A preventive medical composition for humans, especially for prophylaxis of disturbances of blood flow and infarcts, and for preventing sudden heart death following arrhythmias is described. The invention is distinguished by administration of a combination of salicylates with donors of magnesium and/or potassium ions and, where appropriate, supplemented with vitamin E and/or beta -carotene and selenium compounds in pharmaceutically effective amounts. It has been found that the complex and defined interaction of some or all components have the intended effect. Utilising these components and their specific properties, the preventive medical composition according to the invention is composed, in particular, of magnesium salicylate and/or derivatives of salicylic acid and, in this case, preferably of O-acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and/or the salts thereof with at least one donor of magnesium and/or potassium ions. It is additionally possible to include vitamin E and beta -carotene and a selenium-containing compound as active substances in the mixture.
