Ultrasonic positioning technique for medical measurement

The technique involves determining the spatial position of measurement points using an ultrasonic positioning system. Measurement uncertainties occur due to system noise on the signals. Instead of the usual three transmitter-receiver pairs, it is proposed to use further T-R pairs, and to optimise the measurements by calculation of individual triples, rejecting the poorest values and averaging others.
