PURPOSE:To measure a distance by an active distance measuring equipment when a subject is placed at a comparatively near position and by a passive equipment when the subject is placed at a comparatively far position by mainly mounting a light-projecting section, a light-receiving section and the active and passive equipments. CONSTITUTION:An active distance measuring equipment is composed of a light-projecting section 1, a light-receiving section 2 and a distance-measuring arithmetic circuit 3. When a release switch is tuned on, a distance up to a subject is measured by the active distance measuring equipment by a distance-measuring value selecting circuit 14. Only one measurement is sufficient. When the distance is 3m or less, the distance is further measured twice. The distance is measured by the principle of triangular distance measurement, and the distance is converted by the circuit 3. A passive distance measuring equipment is constituted of a right light-projecting section 8 and a left light-receiving section 9 and a distance-measuring arithmetic circuit 10. When the subject is placed at a position exceeding 3m, the distance is measured by the passive distance measuring equipment. The photographing distance of a photographing lens is set by distance measuring values at above-mentioned three times. The difference of an angle of incidence is arithmetically operated by the circuit 10, thus measuring the distance up to the subject on the basis of the priciple of triangular distance measurement. |
