The vehicle gearbox has two gear sets having the same number of forward gears as well as two identical gear stages. One of the stages acts as a drive constant between an input shaft and a countershaft.The other stage serves as a constituent of a basic drive in the power flow between the countershaft and an output shaft. The input and output shafts (8,10) of the change gear drives (7-B) are arranged coaxially with each other.
