PURPOSE:To preferentially display character data having higher priority when the displaying position of one character data falls on that of another data by deciding the priority order of the two character data. CONSTITUTION:The navigation device for vehicle is provided with an azimuth sensor 1, car speed sensor 2, map storing memory 3, control circuit 4, ROM 5, RAM 6, V-RAM 7, display 8, and input device 9. The control circuit 4 decides the priority order of character data stored in the memory 3 in accordance with a display mode inputted to the circuit 4 from the input device 9. When one character data are being displayed at a displaying position at the time of displaying second character data at the same position, the circuit 4 displays the second character data by surrounding the data with a displaying frame when the second data have higher priority than the first character data have by referring to the priority order and, at the same time, conceals the first data which have been displayed in the area surrounded by the displaying frame from the screen. Therefore, any character data having higher priority can be preferentially displayed. |
