PURPOSE:To join different kinds of material layers excellent in wear resistance with sufficient strength, at the time of forming an aluminum layer on the surface of a ferrous base material, by heating the joint part while the surface side of the aluminum layer arranged on the surface of the base material is pressed. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a ferrous material 1 to form a base material is cleaned and degreased, and on the surface, ruggedness is formed by shot blasting or the like according to necessity. On this surface, an Al layer 2 contg. Al is temporarily formed by a method such as aluminizing,-thermal spraying, foil pressing or the like. Next, high-frequency heating or the like is executed while the surface side of the Al layer 2 is pressed. Thus, a diffusion layer constituted of intermetallic compounds of Fe-Al (Fe3Al) is formed on the joint part between the base material l and Al layer 2. Furthermore, plastic deformation occurs in the Al layer 2 at this time, by which the surface roughness at the time of the temporary forming is improved and defects 3 constituted of pares or the like in the aluminum layer 2 disappear as well to improve its adhesion. |
