PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight crimped polyamide fibril fiber having excellent water transportability, water holding properties, pilling and snagging resistances and properties suitable for the whole fields of industrial fibrous materials and clothes and provide a method for producing the fiber. CONSTITUTION:This crimped polyamide fibril fiber is obtained by melt spinning a blend polymer of 70-50wt.% polyamide with 30-50wt.% polyester, carrying out the crimping processing of the resultant fiber and reducing the weight of at least a part thereof with an alkali. The surface of the resultant single filament is covered with many fibrils arranged parallel in nearly the fiber axial direction. |
