Radio telecommunication system with satellite navigation for both mobile telephony and VHF radio reception

The system has mobile units each contng a satellite navigation receiver for automatic rough position determination. A reference unit has a satellite navigation receiver for automatic determination of a rough reference position of a point with accurately known geographic position. An error determination unit compares the rough reference position with the accurate reference position. The mobile units transmit the rough position values with the other information to the reference unit, which corrects the rough position values with essentially simultaneously determined correction values. Alternatively, the reference unit transmits the position errors to the mobile units which correct the rough position values.
