PURPOSE:To guarantee the dispensation precision by providing an initial suction process to suck a sample collectively in the amount to distribute to a prescribed number of small containers by a pipette chip and a distribution selection process to select either collecting distribution or dividual distribution mode based on the result of a collective suction availability determining process. CONSTITUTION:After the liquid surface level is detected by, for example, air jetting, to determine the insertion degree of a pipette chip 10, a sample 16 is initially sucked (collectively sucked) for a prescribed number of small containers. At that time, whether a prescribed amount of the sample is sucked or not is judged based on the suction condition. In the case it is determined that collective suction cannot be done, only the amount of the sample for one small container is sucked and thus a dividual distribution mode is selected. When the dividual distribution mode is selected, all of the sample sucked in the initial suction is discharged and the pipette is replaced by a new one. Then, a first time dividual suction is carried out and whether suction is done well or not is judged. In the case there is no sucking pressure and suction is done well, the collective suction mode is selected. |
