PURPOSE:To prevent production of a noise sound when reception state is deteriorated in the receiver receiving a broadcast in compliance with the MUSE-High Vision transmission system. CONSTITUTION:The digital sound signal reproduction device is provided with control means 11, 12 muting a signal when the number of sub frames whose correction is disable in one sound frame exceeds a prescribed number and control means 5, 13 muting the signal depending on the detection state of the synchronizing signal in the sound signal. Since the muting of data in one sound frame is started by correction information, muting is applied quickly and since the muting is applied depending on the detection state of the synchronizing signal in the unit of sound frames, muting is not released in mistake even when capability of a correction code is exceeded and production of noise sound is prevented independently of the reception state.
