PURPOSE:To provide an air conditioner in which there is no need of additional provision of a fan for introduction of fresh air with simplified construction, low investment and installation costs, and high flexibility of the installation. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a heat exchanger 15 installed on an air passage extending between an upper vent port 13 of a heat exchange unit 12 and a lower vent port 14, an upper fan 16 operable only when the upper vent port 13 is used as a blow-off outlet, a lower fan 21 operable only when the lower vent port 14 is used, a ceiling back space 32 communicating with the outside of a house, and a fesh air introduction pipe 36 communicating with the ceiling back surface 32. Hereby, opening/closing of a damper 42 of the fresh air introduction pipe 36 is controlled in response to oxygen concentration detected by an oxygen sensor 45 by bringing the fresh air introduction pipe 36 into close contact with the side surface of the heat exchange unit 12 and allowing it to communicate to a passage located between the upper fan 16 and the lower fan 21 in the heat exchange unit 12. |
