PURPOSE: To efficiently recover a developer remaining on an electrostatic latent image carrier after transferring and to reduce fogging by allowing a developer carrier to press-contact with the electrostatic latent image carrier with a specific linear load and specifying the ratio of the circumferential speed of the electrostatic latent image carrier to that of the developer carrier. CONSTITUTION: A printer is provided with the photoreceptor drum 1 in its central part and the drum 1 is driven to rotate in the direction of the arrow (a) by a driving device. Moreover, a brush electrifier 2, an exposure device 3, a developing device 4, a transfer charger 5 and a separation charger 6 are successively arranged on the surroundings of the drum 1. After a visible image is transferred to a transfer material, the developer remaining on the electrostatic latent image carrier (the drum 1) is removed/recovered by the developing device 4. At this time, the developer carrier of the developing device 4 is in press- contact with the drum 1 with 0.4-1.8g/cm linear load and the ratioθ(Vd/Vpc) of the circumferential speed Vd of the developer carrier to the circumferential speed Vpc of the drum 1 is set to >=2. |
