The device comprises a first frame (2) with upper and lower frame parts (3,4) connected together by two posts (5). A plate (6) directed towards the load is rigidly connected to the lower frame part (4) and a collar arm (7) extends from the area of the upper part (3). A second frame (12) is connected to the first to swivel in the top part area about an axis (18). A support (14) parallel to the swivel axis is connected to side frame parts (15) which hinge at the other end with the first frame (2). The second frame is held by stays (11). Connections (20) are mounted on the side of the first frame remote from the load to connect the device to the lifting mechanism of a tractor.
