The packaging is produced from a blank of semi rigid material, e.g. cardboard and has a base (1) and four lateral walls (2,3). Two opposite walls (2) are extended by a flap (6), or lateral flap sections (4), forming end tabs (10), part of the adjacent wall (3), maintaining closure. These tabs have extensions (14), connected by a fold line (15), on the wall carrying the flaps. The tabs and extensions form a reinforced corner in each angle, or corner of the package. The tabs and extensions may have a length equal to the distance between the base and the parallel flap. Alternatively, tenons and slots may be used. Final assembly may be of the "fold and glue" type, in two successive operations.
