A metal coating on an article made of ceramic composite is obtained from a powder consisting of a mixture of two powders: - a base powder A comprising 2 to 5 % of a reactive element Ti or Zr, at least one flux element B or Si in proportions ensuring a liquidus between 1000 DEG C and 1300 DEG C and additional metallic elements, including at least 50 % Ni or Ni + Co; - a powder B in a weight ratio of 5 to 30 %, in which the elements are chosen in order to impart to the article the required special surface properties such as antiwear, antioxidation and/or anticorrosion and so as to ensure a B liquidus higher than the A liquidus. A process of production is also described.
