Disclosed are a viscosity-type torsional vibration damper and a method of manufacturing such a damper, the invention being characterized by the use of thermoplastic materials in the construction of the housing. First, at least one jacket element (3) made of thermoplastic material is placed round an annular element (2) and a viscous damping fluid is then injected between the annular element (2) and the jacket element (3).
