PURPOSE: To provide an electromagnetic transducer element making use of GMR effect by which it operates stably over a wider temperature range, and even over the wider range of magnetic field in practical use. CONSTITUTION: This electromagnetic transducer element is composed, at least, of a first magnetic layer 1, a nonmagnetic layer 3, a second magnetic layer 2, and a rare earth-transition metal alloy layer 4 made on a substrate 5, and the second magnetic layer 2 and the rare earth-transition metal alloy layer 5 are exchanged and coupled with each other, and besides the direction where the magnetic orientation of the second magnetic layer 2 and the rare earth- transition metal alloy layer 4 is within the film face, and also for the composition of the rare earth-transition metal alloy layer 4, the rare earth in superior to it at room temperature, and further the main component of the nonmagnetic layer 3 is Cu, and besides the layer is 1.5nm thick or over. |
