The roof rack has a load carrier with carrying arm movable down to loading position, and up to transport position along a guide track. The guide track (7) is curved in an arc of circle along its length. The load carrier (8) can be moved along the curved track past the roof edge into its transport position by pushing up its carrier arm (9). The curved guide track extends over the entire width of the roof. In its end zones, it is fixed to side support feed (6). The carrier arm has the same curvature as the guide track.
