PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove only noises and to improve the quality of processed image by performing expansion or/and shrinkage processing with peripheral picture elements in the angle direction of line segment, which passes from a reference point on a binary image through a processing object picture element, as the components of logic. SOLUTION: A/D conversion is performed to the image signal of circular picture, around which the image is picked up by an image pickup part (full azimuth camera) 1, a differential binarizing part 3 finds the difference of luminance or color between a reference image held in a reference image memory 4 and the input image signal, compares it with a threshold value and binarizes the image signal, and an image memory 5 temporarily stores the image signal and sends it later to an input image register 61 inside a noise processing part 6. At the noise processing part 6, the components of mask are decided out of the picture elements around the processing object picture element connected to the angle shown by the line segment, which passes from the reference point through the processing object picture element, corresponding to the relative positions of the processing object picture element and the reference point on the binary image, and expansion or/and shrinkage processing is performed by the components of this mask. |
