Converting residues from old waste sites into useful building materials

Organic or inorganic residues from old waste sites are converted into useful material by first separating the mineral and organic fractions and subjecting them separately to one or more size reduction and classification processes to reduce the waste to the smallest possible particle size and to fray out any residual particles of organic material. The moisture level is adjusted to a predetermined level and the material is added to a liq. slurry which binds the material in a multicomponent binder and fibre system and allows it, to be converted into pellets or other extruded shapes with considerable volume reduction.
